Head Start of Lane County
Head Start of Lane County is a non-profit organization serving over 1,000 children and families with high quality educational services and job training. They tailor and diversify their efforts to what the parents and community needs. With 8 educational regions throughout Lane County, they are able to provide parents with a primary contact person that builds relations and strong partnerships from the beginning.
The Head Start program was utilizing designated space inside Clear Lake Elementary School. Federal funding allowed them to add a modular classroom building on Clear Lake Elementary School property. An integrated project team approach was required to help establish project budgeting and value considerations. McKenzie Commercial oversaw the structural foundations, site improvements, site utilities, ADA ramps and rails, site improvements, and MEP connections.
Working with the Head Start staff has always been a positive experience and has turned into a long-standing working relationship. Over the past 20 years, McKenzie Commercial has completed multiple projects, including other modular sites, as well as a new playground area for the Head Start students to increase their outdoor recreational opportunities and educational experiences.
